"Columns
and Lintels, Glass and Lead" was installed in 1987 at Lyndon
B. Johnson Apartments for the Elderly. The site is a public
housing complex, subsidized by the City of Cambridge for the
people of Cambridge. This glass piece transformed an existing
impoverished main lobby into a space which people enjoy entering
and occupying. The imagery of the piece is derived from the
mineral world, including references to Anasazi rock art. It
was funded through a grant from the Massachusetts Arts Lottery
Fund and a matching grant from Draper Labs of Cambridge, MA.
