"Tree
of Knowledge, Tree of Light" was installed in 1991 at the
Coolidge Corner Branch of the Brookline Public Library. This
was the first piece of public art to be funded by the Brookline
Arts Council. This site was chosen by the artist because of
its exceptionally diverse population. The library is used
by people of many cultures and economic backgrounds, by children
and the elderly. The window screen an unfortunate view, while
continuing to provide abundant natural light and a sense of
the space beyond.
